We feel pretty safe in our house, too. My husband reinforced the attic with hurricane ties and extra wood beams years before Katrina. We had Dade County approved windows installed literally 2 days before Katrina (that’s a story in itself about the installation). Back then, no one here had them & the installers had never installed them before. My husband is an engineer and the original Boy Scout: always prepared. lol. I’m so glad he is.
I’ll be thinking of y’all and hope for minimal damage. Sounds like you’re in good hands with your house.
Thank you, Charlotte! Just today, picked up the last of the brush and hauled to the curb, later to find a baby black snake coiled in the hallway. Quite the nerve, tried to strike me and more than once. A Home Depot bucket and a well slid flat US Priority mail box over the top solved that problem. Once released, it tried to strike again. Winter cannot come soon enough!
Zone P!!
Ha!
Really great to see you pop up here on Substack, Sheree!
