“Right Turn” appeared online at (mac)ro(mic) 8/17/2018.
This short work is a different take on July 4, Independence Day here in the United States. I do enjoy writing more holidaze than hurrah, holidays!! and “Right Turn” is certainly a unique firework blast from the past.
Often when posting previous work here at Shared Madness, I recall specific publisher details regarding the care given my accepted work. As far as (mac)ro(mic), the minimalist look of the site so enhanced the timestamp of my piece, I felt the presentation of my work was truly considered and appreciated.
My laptop has also strolled memory lane. As I write, its incessant attempts to self-correct capitalize the lower case “m” of (mac)ro(mic) to upper case “M” has reasserted its authority.
Sweet Memories.
Although (mac)ro(mic) has since closed to submissions, I’m happy to see the archives online and active. To read “Right Turn” in its entirety, the link will be provided after this too tiny teaser.
… She sees me walking back from the beach with my bike and pulls over just past the bridge. A fluttering at the top of her right turn signal catches my attention.
