Order to Go
Eulogy Press
My short work “Order to Go” appeared at Eulogy Press, 5/13/2026. Many thanks to editor Macy Craig. The story may be viewed online here.
The work is inspired by a William Eggleston photograph, Untitled, from the series Memphis (ca.1965-68). Eggleston is known for his vivid color photography of the everyday.
“… His inventive photographs of commonplace subjects now serve as touchstones for generations of artists, musicians, and filmmakers, from Nan Goldin to David Byrne, the Coen brothers, and David Lynch.”
View the Eggleston prompt photograph here and for those who read last week’s Shared Madness story “Death Seat”, the twist and sparkle of the prim and proper French Twist hairstyle worn by Juanita (as well as my mother back in the 1960s) is perfectly captured by Eggleston in Untitled-Los Alamos (ca.1965-68) here.
Thank you for reading and enjoy the sweep back in time, if only for a moment.
